President’s Address

I sincerely hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. We had a great turnout at our January joint PDM with ISM, SME, ASQ and CSCMP. Over 140 attendees were treated to a wonderful buffet dinner at the Kingsgate Marriott. Dr. Stevie and Dr. Veredveld were very entertaining and informative with their presentation regarding the economic conditions at 2011 year end and their forecasts for 2012. I’d like to thank our VP of Programs Sandy Cammack for all of her hard work in getting that event together.

We have another Professional Development meeting on February 21^st at the Kingsgate Marriott. We will have a speaker from Toyota Manufacturing giving a presentation on the Toyota Production System. There are details and registration information in the upper left of this page.

We will be looking for a few new Board of Director members for our chapter next year. For the last two years we have not had an Executive VP. This role is primarily to assist the President to eventually take over that role. I am serving my second year as President of the Chapter and I think the next 3 months would be a perfect time to groom my replacement. If you are interested please e-mail me.

I would like to see an attendance increase at our last four PDM’s of this Board year. We have made a commitment to seat 25 at each session. Our chapter member ship is at 270 so we are talking about slightly over 10% of our members attending. Send me some ideas about what it would take to get you out to one of these meetings. The food is great, the venue is clean, the parking is free and the speakers are fantastic.
